We are going to ocean shores and we wanted to know if there are any sharks in that water.

There are sharks everywhere! But in some places more than others!
Considering that over 200 million people visit U.S. Beaches every yeabr, the number of shark attacks is relatively small. Of those millions of beach goers each year, about 40 are attacked by sharks!
There has only been one shark attack in washington and it wasn't even fatal! So if I were you I wouldn't worry at all!

Yes there is sharks in the pacific ocean. They could be in the area where you are going but keep in mind on a surf board you look like there favorite food(seal) but really they are more scared of you then you are of them. Chances are you wont even see one.

As the previous people have answered there are sharks everywhere. I've never seen one in the Ocean Shore's area over 4' long. Doubt if it'll matter as the water there is colder than a mother-in-law's kiss year around.
