The real name of Guns N Roses lead singer, Axl Rose is William Bruce Rose Junior.
He was born on the 6th of February 1962 to William Rose and Sharon E Rose. His father left when he was two years old and Sharon remarried a man named L. Stephen Bailey. She changed her child's name to William Bailey and pretended that his biological father was L. Stephen Bailey, rather than Rose.
William only learned the truth when he was seventeen years old and changed his name legally to W. Axl Rose.
The W stands for William but he does not wish to be known as the same name of his biological father, William, as he claims to have been sexually abused by him during his childhood.
Rose and his friend Izzy Stradlin formed the band Guns N Roses. The name was created by merging the two friend's former bands, Hollywood Roses and L.A Guns.

Ok, that's all good info but Guns N' Roses was not only created by Axl and Izzy, Slash, Duff and Steven were all also founding members of the band.
