I have a 1 1/2 year old female Shitzu whose was in heat. I introduced her to a male shitzu for 3 days straight. She rejected him completely by growling and drooling at the mouth. Is this normal for a female shitzu to behave that way? I would like very much to breed her. Can anyone give me some info please? Thank you in advance!

It depends on the day when you are introducing it to the male. Initial days of heat period are called Proestus and they remain there for nine days. During this time female dog does not let the male to come near to it. Similarly when the heat period comes to an end then last days of heat period also not facilitate the male. But the mid days are quite favorable to serve the purpose.
