When Was Coventry City Football Club Founded?

Coventry City Football Club was founded in 1883, however at the time the club was known as the 'Singers' as the players for the team were employees of a cycle manufacturer called Singers.

The club turned professional in 1891 and changed it's name to Coventry City FC in 1898 when it moved to it's new home ground of Highfield Road. This stadium would be it's home ground until 2005 when Coventry City moved to the new Ricoh Arena which has a capacity of approximately 32,500.

Coventry have only ever managed to win one trophy, which was the FA cup. They won this in 1987 after beating Tottenham Hotspur by 3 goals to 2.

Coventry City currently reside in the Championship where they finished 8th place in the table for the 2005/06 season.

They don't have a manager at the moment, as Micky Adams departed on the 17th January 2007.
