What Is A Renewable Energy?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The evidence for global warming is now compelling as is testified by the agreement of scientists and politicians who are in unison in saying that the case for climate change is overwhelming. Man himself is largely to blame, the emission of greenhouse gases produced by burning carbon-based fossil fuels being the prime driver in precipating the current eco-transformation.

Much effort is now going into reducing the need for power stations, cars, buses and lorries to burn fossil fuels. Renewable energy is the answer. This alternative energy source takes many forms, from wind power to solar power, wave and tidal energy, hydro-electric and geothermal energy.

Renewable energy is generally defined as not being finite, replaceable and which releases little or no climate changing gases. The current debate is how renewable energy sources, which includes hydrogen and biomass energy, can be made to meet our energy needs in a cost effective and sustainable manner.

Renewable Energy is basically a form of energy that can be replenished by nature. That is why it is known as renewable. This form of energy does not deplete with the passage of time and usage. It carries on the way it was. In fact, if it is not used it will be wasted.

Renewable energy can be produced from sunlight, tides, wind, geothermal heat, wind, rain etc,  The largest source of renewable energy is water. Hydroelectricity is the energy made from water. Around 15 percent of the total energy produced in the world is through use of water.  Solar energy has the second largest share.

Renewable energy sources are abundantly found in nature in all parts of the world. You can find heat, water, sunlight etc all around the world without any cost. These resources can be used to make a better world having much less pollution. As non-renewable energy sources are considered as pollutants.
