Who Survived The Eruption Of Mt. Saint Helen?

I don't know why I'm shocked that there are NO answers to this question.  I know my sister Kathy, her husband John and his family.  I don't know many of them, I only met a few and that was years ago!!!  Having hever asked if anyone died during the eruption, I just assumed they all lived.  I know that I was in Junior high school, (now known as middle school) at the time, we did reports about the eruptions and I remember commenting on my sister and her family knowing people who lost their homes but don't remember anyone saying anyone died.  
Since there was warning it was coming and the whole event was talked about for weeks on television and I assume newspapers, magazines, etc.  My mother (RIP) even had some Mount Saint Helens soot in a container that was sealed because it was ashes and could spill so easily.  I have no idea what ever happened to it but last I knew, I had it somewhere.
