DVD -R has a recordable format and has a larger storage capacity. But the data once stored on DVD-R cant be changed or modified. In other words, it has a write-once format. Whereas DVD +R is a variation of DVD and has the same storage capacity but offers faster writing ability and internal linking. It is also write-once but is more compatible with DVD players than the DVD-R version.
