How Can A Router Stop The Access Of The Internet?

While trying to configure a new connection through a router, your dial up connection may stop working. This happens often and you can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to revive your connection and avoid this situation again.

First, you should connect your PC to the modem directly, without the router. If you are still unable to access the internet, you should contact your internet service provider as it could not be because of the router. Reconnect the router to the modem and the computer again, and try logging on.

If you still cannot connect to the internet then you should check if all the cables that are connected to router and computer are secure, check if the LED on the modem and the LEDs for the different ports with cable, are lit and blinking. If not, then you should follow the "Troubleshooting light status" steps from the router manual.
