What Were Signs Like In The Old Days?

Answer Question

The older signs were made of wood, have you ever watched an episode of M*A*S*H which is both a movie and television series. There you will see perfect examples. There was no stop and go signs as not needed until the industrial revolution.  Since then, signs have been made with tin, much like the old license plates, and in some areas, the street name was nailed to the corner house rather than just on a post.  I remember when my parents renovated, they took down sign, they should have kept as souvenir. Can't remember what they did with it. In Europe, a lot of what we would see a sign posts it is marked on the ground, on the pavement itself, so when overseas, be careful.  In some countries, there are still no law or rules to the road and can be quite terrifying to drive there.
