(snapping turtles, alligators, or other denizens of the water) If the pond is not too deep, all you need are waders or hip boots and an eagle claw clam rake. For deeper water, you need scuba gear and someone else to go with you. Once the balls are retrieved, you get half of them and the course owner or pro gets the other half. Balls that are in the water for a week or two get discolored from the mud and are not worth much. Premium balls such as Titleist, Nike, Noodle, etc sell for a dollar or so if in like new condition. Most other balls for considerably less. Check your local sporting goods store flyer and for unblemished balls, you should be able to get one half the retail price
