What Is The Best Mortar For Tile?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

For the underlayment or for the tile to be set in...thinset.mastic,liquid floor leveler...sold at most home depots or lowes...just about any home improvement store...i would suggest doing a test set up on a scrap piece of wood using each of the different types to see which one you like to use/personal taste...i used 3 different types of concrete patch to find the one that worked the best for my particular repair when i was fixing my steps(i know it is not the same repair)..but it will help you to decide  which one you can handle using for your floor..and help you to see what tools you need to use and how to use them...i also suggest watching some video clips or repair videos on line to give a idea of what your getting into(a picture/video clip is worth a thousand words)..maybe even go to a home depot when they give a demonstration on this project..just call the store and see when they will be doing a demo..hth
