The last plague God caused the Egyptian families, including Pharaoh the King of Egypt, after Almighty God, the Creator of all things known to exist or ever exist, had told his representatives to tell Pharaoh. The plague was that the eldest son of every family in Egypt would die the night now known as "The Passover" in Judaism. The surviving eldest sons would be all of those in the Hebrew families, the families who were of the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph who belonged in the 'promised land.' God had shown Abraham, his faithful follower, after the faithful Abraham was even willing to sacrifice his son on God's altar to prove his faith to God.

God told Abraham that the land would always belong to the descendants of Abraham forever. Even so, God had allowed His Chosen People to face dangers, death, slavery, horror from non-believers. (That promise to the Hebrews/Jews is still believed believers of Judaism and Christianity.)

One of those great dangers was the slavery in Egypt when a Pharaoh worried that they Israelites/Hebrews would join together to overthrow the Pharaoh's reign. God chose Moses to be The Deliverer as God's representative along with Aaron, Moses' brother, as the eloquent speaker to give God's words and demands to Pharaoh.

Pharaoh's response to the final plague was to call Moses and tell him to take the Israelites out of Egypt immediately. The reason: Pharaoh's own son died that night off The Passover.

Thank you, Melissa. Yes, I have done well in my life and learning. I learned from school, college, graduate school; and, I learned so much from my father whose intelligence and wisdom I admired, and maybe, I was just well-blessed by God. At the same time, I accept any compliments such as your with humility. A long time friend of mine, 25 years older, told me that "You are the most intelligent woman I've known." and at my 50 year class reunion, a friend who had been active in student government and cheerleading when I never was, told me, "You were the smartest student in our class (of 450). You had the best answers when called on?" Yours and these wonderful compliments have helped me to feel better about myself in many ways, including the intelligence that God gave me. Thank you.
