What Was "Endless Summer"?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Endless Summer is a legendary documentary written, directed, and shot by Bruce Brown that is credited with introducing the world to the awesome sport of surfing. Released in 1966, it starred two young California surfers, Robert August and Mike Hynson, on an "Endless Summer" quest, traveling around the world to exotic locales such as Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, and South America, in search of the perfect surfing wave. Along with breathtaking surfing and locale photography, Bruce Brown's amusing tongue-in-cheek narrative and the Sandals' gentle guitar theme mark the film.

In the year of 1994, Bruce Brown filmed a just-as-superior sequel, with Patrick O'Connell and Robert "Wingnut" Weaver as the next generation of globe-trotting surfers.

Endless Summer is still a very popular show today with many people who are into and love surfing. Many surfers have the dream of having an Endless Summer.
