There are new popups that firefox won't block; they're javascript I think and pop up within the browser itself, so don't quite qualify as an offical pop-up.
OR, you're getting popups because your computer has been hosed with adware. Go get spybot search and destroy and lavasoft adaware and clean it out. That should get rid of them...
