How Do Immigrants Help The US?

    The United States is known as a nation of immigrants since 1930s. 12 percent of the total US population or another way to say it would be 34 million out of the nation's 288 million people were foreign born. These immigrants migrated to the United States for many reasons: family, to find better economic opportunities, to escape persecution or simply to get a new start. Immigrants in US have helped and are still helping the country economically in more then one way.

    Immigrants are a substantial segment of the labor force since 1990s. No. of immigrant labor worker force is more then 21 million. The word immigrant conjures up an image of unskilled laborers but it is not true. Many immigrants are contributing highly to the corporate and business of the country in public and private sector. Immigrants have formed companies with venture capitals, in high tech industry sector etc.

    Some of the famous US based companies formed by foreign born citizens are Intel Corp., Google Inc, eBay Inc. and Sun Microsystems.
