What Does A Tuner Do?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A tuner locks on to a radio signal of a set frequency and then "demodulates" the signal to recover the original signal that was modulated onto the radio wave.

For instance, music is put onto a 100 MHz carrier wave using frequency of amplitude modulation (FM or AM). The tuner receives the 100MHz, de-modulates it and the music remains.
