What Are Private Lawyers Paid To Be Prosecution Lawyers?

Some lawyers practising law in private firms in UK are frequently asked to perform prosecution duties of the crown. In my country, Malta (EU), lawyers within the Attorney General's office perform prosecution without the aid of 'private' lawyers.

It is quite common for this out-sourcing to happen as the budget to retain a attorney is and can be burdensome. Some issues require a more specialized knowledge and experience and the budget and need for this type of attorney may not justify a full time attorney to handle the case. As such this work is outsourced to a specialist that will handle the matter. I always find it very interesting myself how attorneys wear two hat's. Then when you think of legal matters in general the only one's that are ever satisfied with legal issues are attorney's which run the laws, the courts and the defense and prosecution. Then they have drinks afterward to talk of there trials! Lol
