Should Schools Allow Unrestricted Internet Access To Students?

We are doing a portfolio in one of my classes and we have to write about this question then we have to convince the principal to accept our presentation of which ever way we decide to go. I have mixed feelings like it would make research easier without all of the blocked websites but people might also be doing things inappropriate for school.

I don't believe it should be unrestricted due to the fact, many kids are very curious about things, and if they were being monitored they probably would go to sites that are inappropriate.  Things are just to easy for kids to stumble across even when not looking, so restricted is the best way to go.

I think kids should have access to Internet at school but certainly not unlimited or unmonitored due to come kids' tendency to view websites that are not appropriate.
