Why Is My Mango Sapling Not Growing?

I planted a mango plant in a pot and have decided when it will be big enough, I'll plant it in a nearby park.But I can't understand why mango saplings planted in pots stop growing at certain height.Can anyone help?????

    It can be because it lacks breathing space, the oxygen is not enough for its room of growth, the roots might be squeezed in the pot to prevent it from growing.
