What Do You Think About Flow Control Of Data Link Layer?

Answer Question

Because of the flow control mechanism the receiver buffer is always safe from overflowing. Via the Flow control the extra sending of data can be controlled. It means that only specific amount of data would be reached at the receiver side, because of this flow control mechanism.

Flow control is like a comparison system, it compares that the rate at which the sender is sending the data should be matched with the receiver capacity to absorb the data. It checks that how fast the sender is sending the data. It controls all the mechanism via telling the sender that receiver is not able to absorb more data so don't send data.
If there is not any control flow mechanism then there are much more chances of receiver overflowing.

At the receiver and the sender side there is restricted capacity for buffering the frames. It might be possible that the receiver is accepting frame more fastly while not able to process it that much fastly. If there is not any flow control then the receiver buffer will be overflow and might be possible that the frames will lost.
So flow control manage all the mechanism of sending and receiving frames.
