Software Quality Assurance can be abbreviated as SQA and it is distinct as an intended, planned and systematic method to the assessment adhesiveness and the quality of software product standards and procedures.  This process also assures that all of the standards regarding a product have been established in a very successful manner and they are being followed in later stages of development then. To establish standards for a software product is not an easy task, it is rather a very complex and critical. Procedures are the recognized and well-known criterion to which all of the development and control processes are compared while the standards are used to compare the criteria of various software products. The major role of SQA is to ensure the reliability, efficiency and competence of the developing software. All these standards and procedures must be documented on papers. This process also assures that all of the software components have been allotted software requirements accordingly. This procedure is not only restricted to the requirement phase but it works through out design and other phases. Quality assurance aspect of developing product can never be ignored in order to have an efficient and competent product. Even it is used late in coding stages.

The purpose of software quality assurance is to ensure that product meets client's requirement specifications and is developed according to quality standards. SQA is involved from initiation to implementation of a project life cycle. SQA activities include checking and assessing the product compliance with processes, procedures, and standards to determine potential product and service quality. It involves reviewing the product and activities to verify that they comply with the applicable procedures and standards, and assuring the appropriate visibility for the results of the reviews and audits. The SQA team works with project development team during its initial stages, to device plans, procedures and project acceptance criteria that will make the project a quality project. They ensure that the defined plans, standards and SQA metrics fit the project's needs and verify that they will be usable thorough performing reviews. SQA is responsible for identifying non compliance of product from defined procedure, and later on take corrective and preventive actions to eradicate non compliance through follow up review/audit. It is also included in SQA work to periodically report unresolved noncompliance items to senior management. SQA team device useful test strategies and test plan. Automated testing tools are helpful for executing test cases. SQA ensure that before implementation of project at client side UAT (User Acceptance Test) takes place in one of two dedicated UAT environments. The test base should be built using live data extracted from current operations.
