Vancouver, the third largest city in Canada is situated in the state of British Columbia. It is located between the Strait of Georgia and the Coast Mountains. The metro area of the city is 2,878.52 square kilometres and the estimated population in the year 2005 is 583,267.

Nature has showered its bounty on Vancouver as it is quite renowned for its picturesque scenery. The Stanley Park, one of the largest parks in urban areas has its home in the city and the North Shore Mountains also provide the city some scenic views like Mount Baker.

The climate of the city is temperate as far as Canadian standard are concerned and its winters are the fourth warmest among all the cities in Canada. The climate in summer season is quite dry which results in a moderate draught condition during few months of the year.

It's not in the STATE of British Columbia but the PROVINCE. I was wondering, since this was posted three years ago, what the third largest city in Canada was. It's a western port city and I need a modified answer. Something that is updated.
