Why Does My Kitten Have Black Crud Building Up In His Little Nose?
4 month old male kitten, no vet visits yet. Last month we started noticing black crud in his nose and we pick it out of there every other day or more now so it doesn't build up. What is this stuff and is there something we should do about it other than get it out of there?

You should consult a vet soon because it is not normal for a small kitten to have kind of growth that seems unusual. It indicates tumor. May there is some skin infection but only a vet can tell it be closely examining its curd and by testing the culture if it is due to ringworm or some insect sting. Also note if there seems to be hair loss around it or pain or itching before going to vet so that he can diagnose it right.

Our cat had that too and building around her eyes, turned out to be cat herpes!
