What Is An Ethernet Controller?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

You will find that the majority of industrial equipment is regulated or controlled via mechanical or electrical devices which are known as controllers. It is these devices which help turn on or off diverse processes. Thus they serve to regulate the control of specific mechanisms. Thus Ethernet controllers are those used particularly in local area networks (LAN) regulation. Ethernet refers to an extensive family of varied frame-based computer networking technologies dealing with local area networks (LANs).

You will find a range of Ethernet controllers incorporated into nearly all models. The Ethernet controller would be positioned on a MiniPCI card, possibly Communications Daughter Card (CDC), or even integrated on the system board.

There could be single and multi-port Gigabit as well as Fast Ethernet controllers.
