How Americans Spend Their Leisure Time?

There are different activities that Americans indulge in, during their leisure time. These include watching TV, going out, shopping, hanging out with friends etc. Here is a link from where you can get statistics on them as it is about a survey conducted in the year 2007 and will give you a good picture:

In drinking beer and chasing women ! Most Americans don't read a newspaper. They do not read period. But yes they do buy books and attend lectures by famous authors. Buy their books that adorn their coffee tables and shelves. But they do not read them. Americans blow up all their savings and run up their 6 credit cards to the max. Then declare bankruptcy every 7 years. This is how they spend their leisure time ! And oh yes the amusement parks, the WWW shows, the movie theaters showing crappy Hollywood productions. They do not see foreign films. In particular Americans detest movies with subtitles ( most of the best cinema is sub-titled ! ). And yes Americans love to invade other countries as a leisure activity ! And by the way I am an American.

An important factor to know is that the United States have different climates for each region. So for example the residents in the southern state might consider going to the beaches. Whereas the residents in the north would like to go into the mountains and hike or have picnics.
