I Heard That 'GAP' Means 'Gay And Proud'. Is That True?

GAP is a Mark of clothes and many people say that it means gay and proud. Is that true?

    no I forgot whats that word. like GUCCI, NIKE, ADIDAS, ETC. there's one named GAP.

    No it means gap by gap as in GAP ther r gaps in gap like baby KID TEENager ADult there it is but i never had any clothes from gap im not a fan

        I never thought of that before. At first, I just thought that it was a name like Adidas and Nike and Chico. I did hear some people say that Gap stands for gay and proud. So I guess it is.

          Absolute rubbish, Adidas was founded by a German called Adi Dassler ADI- DASler.

          No this is NOT true; it is a false urban legend...check it out on www.snopes.com

          The family who created GAP used this name for "the generation gap" which which was a popular term used in the '60's describing intellectual, ethical, and the social gap between young people and their parent's generation.

          I don't think that that is what it started out being, it was probably something else. A few people must have been joking around, and made that up, and it has been passed around.
