How Can I Break My Lease Without Repercussions?
Here goes, my door was kicked in and i was attacked by 3 dudes, they wanted my company. But i was attacked. I am scared for my life. I do not feel safe and am very nervous now to leave or even live here. The landlord thinks i was starting problems, which i wasnt, i just wanna leave. Please help. I also cannot pay a TON of money, breaking the lease or whatever, i am very un-xp'ed, first apt ever. HELP!!!!!

1st of all remind your landlord that he has a duty to provide you with a safe environment in which to live. And since he has failed to do so you wish to terminate your lease. I suggest you do all of this in writing and provide him with a copy of the police report which i am sure you have. Good luck to you!

I am impressed with Nascarnuts' answer. She knows what she is talking about. Just for good measure, you might want to send it "return receipt requested' so that you have proof of notification, and keep a copy of the letter for yourself also. Good luck to you.
