Do Flowers Like Vodka?
I've watered my flowers with beer, cider and red wine in the past and they've loved it. Only now I've started to use vodka. They aren't speaking to me anymore. Has the vodka had an effect on their vocals or am I just getting a large dose of the silent treatment?

Some say adding a citrus-flavored soda, such as 7-Up or Sprite, or an alcohol like vodka to the vase of water will lengthen the time these flowers remain beautiful. According to floriculturists, they are right; if the mixture of soda and water is in the correct proportion, a bouquet will remain bright, because the combination provides the flowers with the water and food they need.

Very good answer. I learned this trick from a florist friend. She said they also like the sugar that is in the soda.
With the beer, cider and red wine your flowers were probably just
pleasantly buzzed. The vodka must be too much for them and
they've turned into sullen, brooding drunks. Try switching to
something non-alcoholic and see if you get better results. If
not, you might look for a twelve-step program such as Chlorophyllics

Well, I am a delicate flower and I LOVE VODKA...too much and I will give the silent treatment due to the overwhelming urge to sleep. If I am watered with beer or cider I will be very joyful and energetic.
