How Do You Write Songs?

I do not know much about song writing, but I guess i can help you with the basic of song writing. The main problem in song writing is where to start. To your surprise, you don't have to start thinking about the melody or rhythm or even the lyrics. The first thing you should concentrate on is the title of the song. The title is very important. It defines the song and your title itself will become the chorus of your song. Once you have zeroed down on a particular title, think around it. Now you need to write lyrics. You must remember that lyrics are not poetry. They do not necessarily have rhyme. Suppose if your title is "I want to be" you should think about the lyrics around it. Like "what do you want to be" "what are you" "etc
