Well sinus infection can simply be treated with an antibiotic while cancer would require chemo or radiation therapy or possibly surgery. If you are asking how the symptoms differ I have heard with throat cancer your voice changes and it is hard to swallow and very painful, sinus infection would only make your throat a little sore from the post nasal drip you would get while sleeping it would improve throughout the day!
