Kendal is a small town situated in Cumbria, England. It is the biggest town in the district of South Lakeland. Currently it is famous for its tourism and as the base Kendal mint cake. Most of their buildings have been constructed from local grey limestone hence earning the nickname The Auld Grey Town.
Kendal is based on River Kent and it is bounded by stumpy hills. The Lake District National park is just outside Kendal and is often considered as a part of it. Even though it is very small town, it is a vital marketable centre for a large area because of its rural location.
Kendal currently is famous for its Kendal mint cakes, which is a glucose-based mint cake discovered accidentally by Joseph Wiper, when he was trying to create clear Glacier mint.
