A quick sharp smack should be a last resort and used infrequently. It should always be given with your hand on their bare leg or butt, that way it is felt more and stings, as it should to have effect!

Your hand and always on a bare bottom

I use my belt or a strap. Have 3 boys, ages 14, 11 and 9. They know that they will be spanked for both naughty and serious offenses. Naughty means about 10 20 strokes of the belt across the bare ass. Real serious means the strap , my grandpa's razor strop . 20-30 strokes. They are good students, do well in sports, and are becoming great men!

I have 3 boys, 12, 9 and 7, and use my belt. It is effective, and helps them behave. My Dad used his belt or the razor strop, that really stung!

you do not hit a child !   They have laws against that now
