Finding the DNS servers location is quite easy. Firstly make sure you are connected to the internet before beginning your search for the DNS servers.

If you are using Windows 95 or 98 then follow this simple instruction. Go on the start menu on your menu bar. Click on run and then type “winipcfg”. Once you select the correct network adapter click on the “more info” button. There you will find your primary DNS server.
For those using Windows 2000 or Windows XP the process is easier. All you have to do is go on the start menu and click run and cmd. Once the black screen pops up type “inconfig/all” you will see the DNS server for your location.

Your last option is to simply contact your cable modem department by calling them or simply visiting their website if there are friendly and knowledgeable you will surely have no problem.
