Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Coca-Cola is an example of successful media exploitation. They have truly made optimum use of mass media. It is widely accepted that Coca-Cola's advertising has had tremendous impact on American culture. While recently this giant company has been targeting young consumers, they have this policy of simply avoiding using children who are below 12 years old in its advertising.

'The cola wars' is an expression referring to advertisement battles between Coca-Cola and Pepsi or to other cola soft drinks manufacturers in general. Coca-Cola strategically purchased Columbia Pictures back in the year 1982 till the year 1989 when it dropped Columbia. Thus Columbia provided a lot of subtle publicity via Coke product placements seen in scores of its films while it was under Coke's ownership.

Coca-Cola is noted as the earliest sponsor of the Olympic Games. That is, the 1928 games held in Amsterdam and astonishingly has remained an Olympics sponsor since.
