The thing said that you can make friend to like chat to and stuff but how?

If you'd like to make a request for a friend, look around the website, read answers others have given, and if you find someone you'd like as a friend, go to their welcome page by clicking on their name, when you get to their page, on the right side on the bottom, is their list of friends. You'll see an area that says make me their friend. Click on that, and it will tell you to wait patiently while that person considers your request. For the most part, I think most requests are accepted. Good luck finding your friends!!

Well click on the person avatar or username. Scroll down to the bottom of their page and you will find in a gray box the words 'make me their friend'. Click on this and if they want to they will accept but it will take time. But make sure you accept to people that want to be your friend!
