Vinegar is the best product to use for cat urine smell. It works great on sofas and carpets. Mix 3 parts water and one part vinegar and put on the urine stain. Dry it with the help of a cloth or paper towels. When dry sprinkle the area with baking soda. Then mix 3/4 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution with 1 teaspoon detergent. Sprinkle this over the baking soda. Then work the soda in with a brush. Allow to dry and then vacuum. Repeat the process if necessary.

Bleach is the best way to eliminate both the smell and the toxins that lie within the urine. Of course it won't be good on fabrics due to the bleaches colours altering. Try natural lemon as an alternative or vinegar soaking the spot. Cats urinate indoors for a reason. It's best to get to the heart of the problem.
