It is not clear whether you are trying to see if it is possible to track down the bank account by hiring an investigator, or if you are worried about tax authorities potentially finding the account. You probably don't have to worry about tax authorities discovering this account, unless anyone decides to transfer funds electronically (wire transfer and other deposits) from Cancun to a US financial institution. If you are interested in hiring an investigator to find this account, you will have to supply him/her with a minimum amount of information, such as the bank's name. It won't be necessary to provide the branch address at this point. Once you have this basic information, it will be possible to track down the account, but I suspect that Mexican officials will really hesitate to divulge any information, unless you can prove your identity.
