It happened on 4th September 2001. At least 176 people died and more than 450,000 were homeless following the severe flooding that engulfed northern Thailand after Typhoon Usagi swept through the area. Thousands of homes had been damaged across 33 provinces and more than 200,000 hectares of farmland was submerged.
