My Dog Has Seizures. Do You Know What Could Be Wrong With Her?

My dog is a Miniature Pincher. She has a seizer once a month. She will fall over on her side, and will lay there for like 15- 20 seconds. She looks like she is dead when she does this. It is scary, for us to find her like that. We are afraid that one day she may not wake up, and that is a scary thought. We are really wanting to know what could be wrong with her? Oh, while she having her seizer she pukes.

Given that this is not a one time thing, I'd venture to say that it has nothing to do with her environment... In other words, you're not doing anything wrong.. And you probably have an epileptic min-pin.  Epilepsy does unfortunately run in the breed, as it does in many others.  You need to see a vet to rule out any other possible cause, and get her on a maintenance medication that will help to lessen the frequency, duration and severity of seizures.

Your dog could probably be suffering from a brain tumour or a head injury all of which are known to cause seizures. The Lyme disease and the Rocky Mountain spotted fever which are caused by ticks could also lead to seizures. Canine viral diseases such as the canine distemper virus could also cause seizures in dogs.
