Why Did My Boyfriend Call Me By His Ex Girlfriends Name?

I know its awful but this does happen now i have also called my son by is sisters name and vice versa, sometimes its just slip of the tongue, i called my fiancé my exs name but its not because i missed him or want to be with him he was just in passing thought, really strange but if its bothering you just ask him why x

Have they recently split up or were they together a long time? He could just be used to saying it when he's annoyed or angry, I called my boyfriend by my brother's name a couple of times when I was annoyed with him when we first moved in! I was just so used to saying that name when I was annoyed! Even if he's just seen/thought about her recently she could have been on his mind when he said it, not necessarily in a romantic way, he may have seen her earlier that day or have been deleting some old text messages from her!

It's hard to say without knowing more about the situation at the time, it doesn't necessarily mean anything untoward is going on. The best thing to do is to just be up front about it and ask him, there may be a simple explanation or some feelings left over from the past relationship, but no-one on here will be able to tell you what it was, talk to him...
