Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The height of K2 is 8,611 metres and in terms of feet it stands at 28,251 feet. It is second only to Mount Everest in the Himalayan range. The mountain peak is located in the stretch of Himalayas and also called Godwin-Austen, after the name of the surveyor Henry Haversham Godwin-Austen, whose team first discovered it in the year 1856. It is located in the Karakoram Range and the first team that conquered the peak consisted of Lacedelli & Compagnoni way back in the year 1954.

The territory is located in India but currently it is in the occupation of Pakistan that it has illegally occupied. And now it is believed that China also count it under its territory. But the only legal claimant of the peak is India.
