    Early American Film studios were entertainment groups held by News Corporation which still continue to operate. Among these are : 20th Century Fox, 20th Century Fox Animation, Fox Search light Purchases, and Blue Sky Studios. There are six major movie studios in America. The News Corporation studios are one of the six studios. The other five are Walt Disney Company, Viacom, Sony Corporation of America, Time Warner and NBC Universal.

    The Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group, Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures and a few others are the subsidiaries of Walt Disney Company. Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks, United International Pictures and Nickelodeon movies are the subsidiaries of Viacom. Sony Pictures entertainment, Columbia TriStar Motion Group, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and some other are affiliated to Sony Corporation pf America. Time Warner has Warner Independent Pictures, Picture House, HBO films and some more. NBC Universal holds Universal Studios and Rogue Pictures. America has a big list of mini-major studios. Among these are: Fireworks pictures, Gold Circle films, Alliance Atlantis and many more.
