Canine parvovirus is contagious and is transmitted from dog to dog. There are two species of canine parvovirus which are intestinal parvovirus and cardiac parvovirus. Puppies are more frequently affected but every dog can be infected. 80% of the infected dogs show no symptoms. But when symptoms appear, can be lethal as it causes dehydration. The symptoms can appear after 3-10 days of infection, which are

    • Vomiting
    • Diarrhea
    • Fever
    • Lethargy
    • anemia
Your puppy will be among those dogs which are positive for the parvo but are without symptoms. Age, breed factor(rottweilers, pit Bull terrier etc), frequent infections and parasite can trigger the parvo infection.
