    Marble basically is a metamorphic rock obtained from metamorphism of limestone, made up mainly of calcite. It is used on a large scale for sculpture, in buildings and other various applications.

    The term 'marble' is colloquially applied to address other stones which are able to take high polish. Faux marble basically is a wall painting method which replicates the color patterns or true marble. Marble dust can be mixed with cement or synthetic resins to create reconstituted or cultured marble.

    Unadulterated white marble is the consequence of metamorphic of very pure limestone. The characteristics swirls and veins of several colored marble assortments are regularly there because of many mineral impurities like clay, silt, sand, iron oxide, which were first there as grains or layers in the limestone.
