Where Is Sydney Harbour?

    Port Jackson comprises of the Sydney Harbour, it is a natural harbour of Sydney, Australia. It is quiet well known for its beauty and location. It is situated near the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The area around Port Jackson was already colonized by people of various tribes like Gadigal, Cammeraygal, Eora and Wanegal during the European discovery period.

    It is said that the Gadigal people were located near the area which use to expand along the southern side of Port Jackson, this area is currently known as South Head.  

    This harbour was discovered by Lt James Cook in the year 1770, though he did not enter it. There are many islands in the harbour like Shark Island, Clark Island, Fort Denison, Goat Island etc.
