Iced tea is taken without milk. Iced tea is made sweet with sugar at the time of brewing. In the South, it is also known as 'sweet tea' and outside of the South; it is known as 'black tea' that has no sugar.

It contains baking soda in a small extent. Because of the soda, the tea becomes dark in colour. Iced tea is a cold tea. Generally it is served in a glass having ice cubes. This tea is served with or without lemon. It is also served with a slice of orange or pineapple.

Iced tea is made from tea bag, water and ice cubes. It has zero calories. When sugar is added to iced tea, it gets calories. 'Commercial mix' iced tea has higher calories than an iced tea because of added sweeteners. Generally one big cup of commercial iced tea has almost 200 calories that are very high.
