Why Are Some Substances Magnetic?
I am writing a lab report and cannot remember why some things are magnetic. Please help.

Actually all known Substances exert some sort of magnetic force. It is so small in most materials that it is not noticeable whereas in other Substances in which it is noticeable are called Magnets. Magnets are naturally occurring Magnetic. And some substances are made into magnets when they are subjected to a magnetic force.
