Northwich is a town in the county of Cheshire in England. It is in the heart of the Cheshire Plain. Northwich is a wich town (also spelt as a wych town), which means it is a town which was primarily engaged in the production of salt due to the presence of an abundant number of salt pans, brine springs and wells. It is located at the point of confluence of the River Weaver and the River Dane.
According to the population census of 2001, Northwich had a population of 19, 259. During the period of Roman, the town of Northwich was recognized as Condate. It is the twin city of Dole in France. A former member of the boy band Take That, Gary Barlow, and one of the most famous marathon runners in the world, Paula Radcliffe, are among the most famous personalities who hail from Northwich. Water transport is the main form of transportation in Northwich.
