What Is A Simple Definition Of Enthalpy Combustion?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Enthalpy is basically a measure of the heat produced by an exothermic reaction which helps us to determine how much work we can do with the help of the energy released during the reaction. The enthalpy of combustion corresponds to the work potential that can be achieved from a system in which a combustion reaction takes place. These reactions of burning are associated with oxygen as it is necessary for the combustion process and it is an exothermic reaction. It is expressed as kilo joules per mole. It can be calculated using the formula H= U+pV
Where H= enthalpy, U= Internal energy in joules, V = volume and p= pressure of the system under observation.
