Can You Name A Few Prominent Southern Baptists?

           Southern Baptists have done well in all walks of life. Some of the prominent Southern Baptists are evangelist Billy Graham, Saddleback Church (California) pastor and author Rick Warren, Mosaic (Los Angeles) pastor and author Erwin McManus, House GOP Whip Roy Blunt, child actress Dakota Fanning and singer Clay Aiken (the runner-up in the second season of American Idol).

           Two former presidents of the United States of America were raised Southern Baptists. They are Jimmy Carter (the 39th president of the country) and Bill Clinton (the 42nd president of the country). Carter left the Southern Baptist Convention and joined the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, citing differences with the direction of the leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention and their beliefs.

           The entertainment photojournalist Larry E. Birkhead and his family are also members of the Southern Baptist Convention.
